Land Rover Repair: EAS Fault, range rover, air suspension

Question
Hi Dennis.

The front left bag has been replaced in the last 18 months but has continued
to sag.  Over the last 12 months I could come out to find the whole P38 1995
HSE sitting on the bump stops and would take a while.  sometimes 15 mins of
driving to come up.  Last night I was driving along the highway and it
wouldn't come up to ride height and then got the EAS Fault - Slow to 55km
(I'm in Australia) all the way home.  Please advise.  Should I just go to the coil
conversion?  Help greatly appreciated.  Cheers.  Paul.

Answer
Hi Paul,

I never recommend a coil conversion, I'm a fan of the EAS and will help in any way I can for you to keep it.

It sounds like you have several leaks that have persisted, and over time have worn out your air compressor.  The RR shouldn't sink at all overnight, and when it does should come up in just a few seconds.  Being a '95 all of the rubber bits are beyond their expected life-span.  It's time for new springs (3 since one is new), new orings in the valve block and a new piston seal.

I have full overhaul kits here:

one click ordering for everything you need to overhaul your system.  If you can replace your brakes you can handle the rebuild.  Full instructions with photos on my site as well.

Let me know if you have more questions,
