Land Rover Repair: Passenger door locks, side doors, electrical malfunction

Question
Hi,
I own an '03 Disco.  I took it in to get a tire replaced and when I got home and tried to set the alarm, it honked at me telling me something wasn't secure.  I looked at the doors on both sides and then moved to the rear door to find that it wasn't closed.  When I looked in, everything was scattered and my tools were half-way put back in it's case... apparently they went inside my truck to use my tools and did not shut the door completely. The next time I went to my vehicle, I tried to open the passenger-side door and it would not open, (The same for the back passenger-side door).  I can lock and unlock them using the interior switch, but the knobs will not raise until I pull the interior door handle to open.  (From outside, it will not open in any case).  The nearest dealership is 3 hours away, so I took it to a LR specialist here in Tallahassee.  He said the computer tells him it is an electrical malfunction of the latches and it doesn't appear the tire center caused it.  I am single with no children and I rarely used either of the passenger-side doors.  I find it hard to believe that the passenger-side doors would have a problem before the driver's side doors would.  Especially since they were functioning properly when I cleaned out the car before taking it to the tire store.  They also locked properly when I parked it at the tire store.  When I returned to my car after the work was done, the doors were all unlocked so I didn't notice anything unusual.
***Side-note: While waiting in the lobby, I heard the horn go off several times as they were bringing it into the bay.  It wasn't the alarm.  The honks were sporadic, every 5- 10 seconds or so.  I never got an explanation for this and don't know if it may be related somehow).

Answer
Hi Tracy,

I've never heard of this before, but I know LR electronics can do wierd things if you don't do things right (like lock the doors with the back door open..)  This may have simply confused the computer, cleaning the fault may help the issue, or it may be lack of use causing the door mechanisms to bind.  Either way will take some digging to sort it out.
