Land Rover Repair: low beam not working, dimmer switches, becm

Question
Hi John

I have a year 2000 rangerover 4-0se.
Lights work with exception to low beam. Just stopped.
I have attemted to locate the fuse and or relays but to no avail. Aby suggestions where to start.

Answer
The headlights are controlled by the BECM, a $1500 module under the right seat.  The headlamp and dimmer switches go into the BECM and signals to the lights come out.

The BECM can be tested with a T4 or Autologic test system.  Without that, testing is very difficult.  If the BECM needs to be changed, those tools are required to code the new unit so the vehicle will start . . . so don't remove it or swap it without the test system!
