Land Rover Repair: 96 discovery sun roof leak, discovery sun, roof assembly

Question
I HAVE A 1996 DISCOVERY AND MY BACK SUNROOF IS LEAKING BUT THE WATER COMES INTO THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE REAR SUNROOF CONTROL BUTTON. THE SEAL LOOKS OK , WHAT CAN IT BE?

Answer
Land Rover recommends replacement of the sliding roof assembly when this happens.  You drop the headliner and remove the whole assembly and bolt in the new one.  It's a 5 hour job, more or less

It's possible to buy tracks and seals but that does not usually work out on a 96 model.
