Land Rover Repair: 2002 Discovery 2 timing chain, discovery 2, compression test

I replaced the leaking chain cover gasket and reassembled as required. Went to start the engine. Bad sound. Dis assembled and found the cam sprocket and chain broken. The cover is ok thank god. Now what?

Something must have gotten tangled in the chain.  I suggest you fit a new set of gears and chain and do a compression test to see if you bent any valves.  If you did, the heads will have to come off.  If not, you're lucky and you can put it back together
