Land Rover Repair: eas fault 99 range rover, range rover air suspension, piston ring

Question
eas fault.300 miles from home, pulled out of a parking spot and suspension went up, eas fault showed, and no manual height ajustment allowed.we finished the tournament 2 days later and started heading home.i was on i55 not ten minutes when suspension lowered to bumpers,my guess is default because of the speed.rover inspected and said it needs$3500.00 to get fixed. valve block was leaking and needs air springs.i asked if they could clear codes to see if it would reset, they said the valve body would have to be replaced,to start, because of hard fault code,it wouldn`t reset.i pick it up suspension has been working with the exception of the beeps under the hood 15 seconds after you shut it off.i`ve been researching through alldata, and have a range rover cd.is there anything you would start with first, compressor relay, timer realy, pressure switch, input solenoid.what wacks out when this happens? appreicate any info you might have, thx

Answer
The dealer's standard answer to a Hard Fault is to replace the valve block and compressor.  Unless there are electrical problems (not typicaly) the block only needs new orings and the compressor just needs a new piston ring.  LR doesn't have any info on rebuilding these, so the Rave disk and Alldata won't help.  the relays and switches rarely fail, odds are it's simply a worn compressor and leaks due to old age.
