Land Rover Repair: freelander, independent mechanic, cylinder pressure

hello John, i wander if you could help? i,ve just bought my wife a x reg freelander & after 30 mins driving it fron auction it cut out, got some petrol no joy. after another 20 mins it started & of i went. it seems to no like going up hills it feels like its gonna cut out on the other hand going down hills fine i can floor it, seems to start from cold on first turn of key once heated up its a pain! any ideas? kind regards, scott lawrie

Hi Scott,

could be just a sensor.  Could also be valve trouble.  Best to have a LR mechanic check it out (cylinder pressure testing, various sensors tested, fault codes checked ...).

Send me an email and tell me where you'd like to have it repaired.  I'll try to locate an independent mechanic who may be able to help you.  Otherwise, there is always the dealer$.
