Land Rover Repair: range rover engine disabled, autologic, range rover

Question
Hi...

I have a 1995 Range Rover 4.0   The alarm which never worked suddenly started working.  It is telling me the engine is disabled and will not start.  The buttons on the remote key do not seem to have any effect on the vehicle (although the light on the key lights up when pressed).  I found instructions to program the key by using the lock in the door.  However, on my rover the electronics to the door seem to be disconnected (the window in the door would never set even though all the others would).  I have no way to start this car.  Please give any suggestions.  Thanks.

Answer
If you are outside the United States your Rover may have an emergency key access code, where you turn the key in the lock in a pattern, like 3 - 4 - 4 - 2.

If so, there would be a card or note to that effect with the vehicle papers.

Failing that, it's a tow to the dealer or nearest specialist with Autologic or T4 or IDS equipment to sort it out.
