Land Rover Repair: linkage?, google search, airspring

Question
My 99 Range rover 4.0 that I picked up yesterday seems to not want to go into drive.  It only goes if i start in 1 and then manually shift up until d. It goes into reverse sometimes, and  even when I shift down to 1, there is a hard clunk of the trans or rear(don't know that much about suspension yet).  Also, the driver wheel air bag dropped yesterday, but went back up and doesn't seem to respond, I think because of eas or ecu fault. Any advice would be appreciated, and also if you know how hard it is to replace the air bags myself.

Answer
I'm not sure about the transmission, hopefully it's a controll issue.

The suspension issue is most likely because of a leaky airspring on that corner.  They are relatively easy to replace, there are some tricks to make it easier.

The fault will need to be reset, you can do it for free now, do a google search for "windows eas unlock program".
