Land Rover Repair: Transmission Illumination lights 95 Disco, illumination lights, check fuse

I have a 1995 Discovery 1 and I have replaced the instrument illuminations fuse many times but this is the first time for this.The transmission and the cig.lighter do not illuminate at night but I cannot find the blown fuse.The lighter does work. Can you tell me which fuse I should be looking at or is it a disconnection problem.

Hi John,

Check fuse 6 for lighter and shifter light.  To replace these bulbs, you have to remove the center console.  Along with the console, lighter has to be removed to access the lighter bulbholder.

Could be that one of the lights is burnt out (or a loose) and perhaps they are in series with each other.  Much like your bumper brake lights, maybe when one goes bad, it affects the other.  My '95 does not have this problem - yet.
