Land Rover Repair: Air Suspension, rover hse, discharge line

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2000 Rover HSE and the air suspension worked perfect up and till a few days ago.  Now it is stuck in the load position and will not raise.  The compressor is quiet but appears to be running.  I checked the fuses and although it is hard with the engine running tried to listen for leaks but couldnt' hear anything.  Any suggestions?
ANSWER: Your compressor is probably worn out, if you let it go long enough you'll get a fault on the dashboard.  It's a simple fix-

QUESTION: Dennis, thanks for replying so quickly.  They don't have any rebuilt compressors so I think I will try my luck with the rebuild kit.  Is there a quick test?  Can I disconnect the line and perhaps feel if it is kicking out air?

Answer
The best test is how long it takes to refill the tank after raising from access to offroad height, should be about 5-7 minutes.  since you're not getting off of the bumpstops You can check the discharge line of the compressor, I suspect there will be nothing there.
