Land Rover Repair: 97 landrover dicoverywill not start, fuel pressure, fuel pump

My 97 dis will not start.the service engine light came on and it sounds like it it just is not getting enough gas. I know it's not the alt or thr starter. Do you think its the fuel pump?

When any car does not start, you begin with the basics.

Does it have spark?

Does it have fuel?

Does it have compression?

If all those answers are yes, you get into spark timing, fuel pressure, and the subtleties of tuning.  Most times, though, it's the complete lack of one of the above.

So to answer your question - I have no idea if the fuel pump is the problem, but if you check those things you'll soon have the answer.
