Land Rover Repair: 95 Disco does not go in reverse, ricardo ferro, land rover exchange

Just changed the auto tranny oil, Dextron 3 and now no reverse. OUCH.

For a while it was very slow in reverse, but now, nothing.

Sound like it's time to pull the transmission for overhaul.  There are no external causes of that problem. Sorry I don't have a better answer.

A genuine Land Rover exchange trans is about $3500, I think.  We overhaul trasnsmissions like that in our shop for $1500-2000.  You can probably buy a junkyard transmission for $1,000 or so.
