Land Rover Repair: Service Engine soon light, range rover hse, obd ii scan tool

2001 Range Rover HSE 4.6
I was driving down the highway yesterday and the check engine soon light came
on it has 73,000 miles it runs great no problems that i can see i dont have loads
of money  to take it really anywhebecause i am in college if you could help

There is nothing anyone can do unless you know what fault codes are stored in the engine management computer.  You're going to have to find someone - a shop, an enthusiast, a parts store - with an OBD II scan tool and see what codes are stored.
