Land Rover Repair: Landrover Disc TD5 2002 ABS/TC/HDC lights on!!, landrover dealer, shuttle valve

Question
Thank you John for your prompt response. The dealer said that they placed the diagnostic unit on the system and it came up Modulator failure. Does that mean that the modudulator has failed or as you say, it could be a number of other items in the system. If so, how do we find out what is the real problem? Also is there only the one valve in the modulator system or could this be another valve playing up?
Bob.

-----Question-----
I previously wrote and you directed me to a solution which had just been released from Landrover to address the 3 lights. A kit was supplied Kit Valve Modulator. This was back in May. Its now Dec 05 and the intermittent lights are all coming on again. The Landrover dealer says its the Modulator and to repair or replace it will cost $4000(Australian)!!!
Once again I ask for a possible low cost solution.

By the way, the dealer tells me that this has happened with many other LDs and the owners have decided to drive around with all the lights on!! Great ad for Landrover eh! Bob.
ps The vehicle has only done 85000ks
-----Answer-----
I have installed a number of modulator repair kits in customer vehicles over this year, and I have never had a recurrance of failure.  If that has happened to you it is the first instance I have heard about.

Remember that a sensor failure elsewhere in the system can put those same three lights on, and have nothing at all to do with the modulator.

Answer
The actual fault we install the repair kit for is "shuttle valve failure."

There is no such code as "modulator failure."

There are other faults that could happen and other codes you could see that would lead to a diagnosis of a bad modulator.  Maybe you have one of those.  If you have shuttle valve faults I'd suggest they read the bulletin and look again.
