Land Rover Repair: 1988 110 Defender Ignition barrel, terminal switch, ohm meter

My existing barrel has a Lucus 162SA five terminal switch. I can only purchase a four terminal Lucas 157SA. Can you give me any help in deciding what lead goes to which terminal please?

We don't use those switches in my country, so I'm afraid I don't know the answer right off.

Ask your local dealer if he has a wiring book or service bulletin with the answer.

The wires are:
Power in
Accessory out
Run out
Crank out

The 5-wire switch has two terminals for one function, almost certainly two "run" wires.

If you have to you can take the old switch apart and see how it switches, and then figure out the new one with an ohm meter.
