Land Rover Repair: p38 dse air suspension 1999 model, leaky valves, consule

hi sunday i had parked  and switched off engine i heard the air suspension pump still running..i started and moved car  and switched off again ..the car had risen to extreme height pump still running...disconnected battery to stop pump ..decided to drive home some 15 miles with the suspenson stuck on high..indicator on speedo consule on..at about 2miles to go some 15 min driving all the lights on height switch plus eas 35 mph warning came on got home with car still at exteme height .. again disconnected battery while  i looked at a  brief fault find on internet..one advice was to change relay rl 20 ..this i did ..i moved car and the suspension sank to bump stop ..all warning lights still on..any  advice would be welcomed before i have to contact dreaded main dealer!!!!roger van k

It sounds like the compressor relay (#20) failed and kept the compressor running.  This over-pressurized the system and inflated the bags through leaky valves in the block.  Replacing relay 20 is the right direction, but you have a hard fault which will need to be cleared by someone with LR diagnostics.  Does not need to be the main dealer.
