Land Rover Repair: 95 Discovery Fuel Pump - Disc Wont Start, fuel pump, fuel filter

Question
I have 1 94-95 Discovery I and I recently stalled while driving. I pulled off the road and could nopt restart the engine. I would wait 15-30 min and it would crank and run for about 30-45 seconds and then die. I replaced the fuel pump at a mechanics suggestion and that "seemed" to fix the problem. Three days after the new fuel pump, the car stalled again and I cannot get it to restart. Is this as simple as a fuel filter which I overlooked, or could it be something else?

Answer
YOu need to check your basics - does the engine have fuel?  Does it have spark?

One or the othe ris probably missing.

If you don't have fuel there could be wiring problems, or a bad relay, or there could be a problem with the pump you installed.

I do not think a clogged filter is the culprit but you can certainly check.  If the pump runs and you don't have fuel at the motor I'd swap the filter.
