From the vast array of original Land Rover coil spring part numbers can you suggest what spring part numbers would give my LHD 1996 V-8 automatic Discovery a modest 1" lift over "stock" ?

I can't answer this but I can tell you who can.  Call Arthur or Les at Rovers North.  802 879 0032.  They will know which springs to use and they will have them in stock, too.  They are LR authorized parts support for the Defenders and older vehicles in the USA.
