Land Rover Repair: Disco Airbag Light on after jumping battery, obd ii scanner, independent shop

Question
Hello,

I recently left the key in the on position overnight on my '96 Disco SE7.  The battery was completely drained.  I jumped started it and drove it around for a while and everything seems to work fine now except the airbag light will not go off.  I have checked every fuse I could logically think would be connected to that but can find no problems with the fuses.  Have you come across this before?  If it is not a fuse what else might it be?  I appreciate any help you can offer.

BTW: If it matters the truck has about 135,000 miles on it and has been virtually problem free for the year I have owned it.

Thank you,

James

Answer
The airbag light is on because it stored a low voltage code when you jumped the truck.

The only way to clear it will be to go to a dealer or an independent shop with one of the specialist Land Rover test systems that can talk to the airbag system.  A generic OBD II scanner won't do it.

Good luck!
