Question
i have a 1999 land rover disco discovery,my question is,do i have to pump the brakes before i stop. my brakes goes to the floor.the dealer said that is normal.is thus true, and what should do

Answer
Hi Wayne,

ask the person at the dealership who said this, to go out and stand in the parking lot.  Tell him you will be approaching him 'dead-on' at 20mph with the brakes you currently have.  I'm sure he won't be smiling when make this request.

Your brakes should always be firm to the touch. Any play whatsoever is a sign that your brakes are in need of repairs.

Pushing the brake pedal to the floor = no brakes at all.

Go to a local brake shop and have your system inspected and repaired immediately.  And watch out for dealer consultants who may want to test other clients brakes in their parking lot!  :<

Best of luck,
