Land Rover Repair: 99 disco starting, then dying if left cold for 12+ hours, mass air meter, land rover specialist

Question
Thank you for your help!
I have a 99 discovery SD. 93,000 miles on it. i just had the fuel pump replaced, plus vent hoses, a purge valve and purge valve canister, and o-ring  about 3,000 miles ago when i had this problem the first time.
Now it's happening again. When the engine is cold, and i go to start the car, it turns over and starts but then will die if i don't rev the accelerator to give it fuel. After it's running, if i turn it off, and it's warm, it starts right back up again w/ no problem. do you think my fuel pump is about to fail a second time? Or could it be the starter or battery? also, no check engine lights are illuminating. before i got this fixed the first time, the yellow check engine light had been on. the first time i had this fixed, it cost $1,100 and i'm hoping to avoid getting this bill a second time! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOU HELP! NICOLE

Answer
The symptoms you describe do not point to a bad fuel pump, starter, or battery.  They could be many things, and I suggest you find a capable Land Rover specialist and have the car checked out.

You could have a temp sensor problem, a mass air meter problem, or something else.
