Land Rover Repair: gearbox fault vs. eas fault, fault message, john robison

Question
I recently took my 95 range rover in to find out what the "eas fault" message meant. They told me it was my height censor. To make a long story short...I ended up taking my truck back to them b/c they did not fix the problem correctly. I want to know if something they did to "fix" my height censor could have caused the "gearbox fault" message. I had never seen that message until after they "fixed" it.

Answer
Anything's possible, but the gearbox and the electronic air suspension are completely separate systems.  There is no obvious reason that a repair to a height sensor (common) should cause a gearbox fault.  I suspect it's just one of those coincidences.

FWIW, there is an article on selecting a repair shop in the Robison on Rovers article reprints part of my web site.  www.robisonservice.com > service > land rover > articles
