Land Rover Repair: Land Rover Discovery front door lock & alarm, land rover discovery, discovery series ii

Question
Hi, yesterday the front door lock of our 1999 Discovery Series II stopped working properly.  The key does not engage the lock, maybe the "tumbler" is broken?  This is one problem.  Then, our alarm system goes off once we enter the car and does not allow us to start the car, so we can't even drive it to a service station.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Answer
There must be an EMERGENCY KEY ACCES CODE  (EKA) for the vehicle. Try to find it int the brochures. It should on a security card. If you find that you can disarm the alarm and immobiliser system without using of the remote controller.

If you find, then search for the using in the owner's manual. If you can't find, then send me an email, and I can send you those pages.

So, if you can start the engine you should go to a Land-Rover workshop, to chech the problem with the diagnostic equipment (oftenly the key lost the syncron with the car, and It should be to resyncronised)
