Land Rover Repair: Power hesitation, not starting, and a leaky rear end., land rover discovery, 5 more minutes

Question
I have had my 1996 land rover discovery for a little over one year now, and I have discovered several problems.

First off, when it rains, I have water leaking out of the two back speakers. I have no sun roof, as you had diagnosed as being the problem in previous cases. I have pulled all of the molding down from the ceiling, and sprayed the top with a hose, but I did not see any water coming in. I have no idea were the water is coming from!

Second off, when I drive my rover it will sometimes hesitate. The car begins to buck for a few seconds, and then will continue as usual. No check engine lights or any indicators come on. It seems to do the hesitation when it is warm out. When it does hesitate, I can continue to drive at the same speed, but when I try to accelerate, the car will downshift, but will not pick up speed.

The third problem I have encountered is when I drive the car for a few hours then shut it off; it will not start back up for a few minutes. When I took my last drive, I was on the road for about 5 hours, and then stopped for gas. When I tried to start the car about five minutes later, it turned over, but would not actually fire up. After about 5 more minutes of waiting, I tried it again, and after about 5 seconds on the starter it gave a very rough start (kind of sputtering), then once it came up to idle speed it ran fine.

Thanks for any advice or input,
-Sam

Answer
1: The way you want to search the leaking is perfect. Get off the roof carpet, and somebody sprays the vehicle with low pressurized water jet, from EVERY directions (like front, sides, back roof, horizontal vertical), while another man is sitting in the car, and watch the roof. It's not enough to see the leak's enviroment! That can be flow from the front panel! But the rooftop can lead the water from meters away! And not enought to water for 1-2 minutes. Sometimes we had to water it for 15-20 mins.

2: It can be much things... I think you shold check the fuelling system for stucking, or the mass air flow sensor may do that, if it can tight in some position...

3: It's seems like enrichment. Probably the coolant temperature cause that, or leaky injectors.

Taken all round you should check the sparking plugs and cables, but maybe there's many more other smaller problem causing that. It's a very-very annoying problem. To find the solution perfectly it should be reproduce itself  continously...

Good luck!
