Answer
Hi John,

you'll have to adjust the cable from below.  Here are the steps:

1. select a gear or put in "Park" - main gearbox
2. chock rear wheels
3. release parkbreak lever
4. remove switch panel from centre console
5. under disco, rotate brake adjuster clockwise until brake shoes are fully expanded against drum.

NOTE:  brake adjuster is found just after the transfer gearbox directly below your centre console.  That large round object holds the brake pads used to lock the driveshaft when you pull the parking brake lever.  On the front of this, you should see what appears to be a bolt head countersunk within.  This is the adjuster.

6.  Back off the adjuster until the drum (large round object) is free to rotate.
7. rotate adjustment thumbwheel below parkbrake lever (inside disco) until parking brake is fully operational on third notch of ratchet.
8. operate parking brake to settle shoes. recheck parkbrake is fully operational on third notch of ratchet ("click, click, click" when lever pulled). readjust if necessary.
9. don't forget to put switch panel back in its place.

done.

Best of luck,

JohnMc
