Land Rover Repair: Discovery 1995 Tdi, haynes manual, start from scratch

Question
Hi John,
Spoken to you before and i am having no luck with bleeding the Fuel System on my LR discovery. I have used the technique used in the Haynes manual and the technique from you.
All that is happening is that pressure does build up on the Fuel pump lever. But no bubbles or fuel is coming out of the bleed screw. What should i do. Start from scratch and renew the filter or is there something else. If i were to start from scratch by renewing the filter again, what would you do. I have gone wrong somewhere but i do not know where.

Thanks alot for your time and thanks for the previous quick response.

Si.

Answer
Hi Simon,

could it be that the filter is not installed correctly?  I think it allows fuel to flow in only one direction.  Double check this and let me know.  I'll look around for some other areas you may have to consider.

Best of luck,

JohnMc

NB:  I hope you're doing this in a nice warm garage.  I replaced mine a couple of winter's ago and it was -15C outside.  Had no choice...hope you do.
