Hi John, love your site. I have a 2000 Discovery II. I have the same problem everyone else is having. The 3 lights on the dashboard and I think I need a valve job. I spoke with a few different service managers at a couple Land Rover dealerships and they all know about the problems. And you already know the cost to fix these 2 issues. I finally contacted Land Rover North America and made a complaint. I got a call back from a guy named Gary(didn't get a last name) but his phone # is 1-800-637-6837. Hit 9 then follow instructions to add extension. Anyways this guy just played stupid. Said he never heard of such problems and wasn't going to do anything for me. I think everyone that is having these problems should start calling Gary and voicing there concerns. Eventually, maybe there will finally be a recall. You can also go to the Land Rover North America website and make a complaint. Thanks for your time. Again John, great site keep up the good work.

I am always amazed when I read messages like the one you sent me.  Its a very sad that this vehicle has a bad reputation for breaking down AND indifference on the part of some dealerships and LR representatives.  What more can one say when you hear such BS.

I will pass on your message to 'a few' Disco and Rangie owners.  I'm sure they'd all like to 'help' Gary know more about these two major problems.  Of course, it won't stop individuals from not answering the call or changing their extension number.

I really wish LR would get their act together and take responsibility for such problems.  Does it always have to boil down to dollar signs? What ever happened to customer appreciation and loyalty.  It's quite apparent that there are many of us loyal to this vehicle and we can certainly give LR representatives, like Gary, more than an earful on known problems and solutions.  The trouble is ... they don't want our input and are not listening.
