Land Rover Repair: blinking odometer, defective alternator, trip recorder

Recently replaced a defective alternator.  When I got the disco buttoned back up, car runs fine, but odometer display is now blinking.  Both odometer and tripometer appear to be working.  (Tripometer display is not blinking)

Hi Ed,

I'm guessing here...could it be that you have to select the correct reading...kilometers or miles?  One owner' manual reads:

To convert from one to another, press and hold the trip recorder reset button for more than two seconds.

Perhaps after you reconnected the battery, the system is looking for odometer confirmation.  I don't think trying this out will hurt anything.

If not, maybe a quick call to your dealer would confirm this.
