Land Rover Repair: 93 Range Rover Staarter, range rover county lwb, flexible socket

I have a 93 Range Rover County LWB w/ 4.2 v8. Starter just spins.  I tried to remove but cannot get to upper bolt on Starter.  Is there an easy way to get there?

Hi Dick,

sounds like the problem I had this spring.  You'll need extensions to your ratchet to get the socket on that top bolt.  I had to use three 10" extensions on my starter bolt.  You may have to use a flexible socket end to allow for minute movement.
