Land Rover Repair: 1988 Range Rover, starter solenoid, blown fuse

Question
The ignition on a 1988 Range Rover I'm borrowing has gone out.  No warning.  Came out from lunch and wouldn't start.  All other electrial seems to be working.  Thought it might be a blown fuse.  Is there another fuse box in the engine bay?  My D90 has one with the ignition fuse in it but all I can find in the RR is a bunch of relays.

thanks

Answer
Hi Marshall,

Sounds more like a solenoid failure on the starter.

If there's a problem with security, the theft alarm unit would interupt the starter solenoid relay's ground path and prevent starting.

I'm not very familiar with Classic Rangies but I'd look to the starter first.

Best of luck,
