Eric,

I was thinking about your sunroof problem and I found a website that might be helpful:

http://www.discoweb.org

Select the TECH header and search down the list of repairs to find the "Sunroof rails" item.  Maybe this will reveal something that can be useful to you.

If I come across any other site that is helpful, I'll pass it along to you.

Best of luck,

Hi Eric,

Thank you for your kind words.  That's very nice of you to say.

Sorry, but I have a manual sunroof on my Disco.  I would suggest you find an experienced LR mechanic or go to a LR dealer to have this fixed.  I heard of other owners using general mechanics to solve this problem and its never been that successful.  They try to save a few $$$ but it ends up costing more AND being repaired by the LR dealership.  I'd go right to the dealership on this one.  There may even be a replacement part fixes this problem - permanently.

The remote key fob failing after a few times could be a sign that the central security processor is faulty.  When it comes to LR security, again count on LR service for these types of problems.  It may cost more but it will be done quickly and (hopefully) professionally.

As for the loose front seats, it depends on what is loose on those front seats.  Usually, adjustments can be done.  If you are talking about the seat bolts into the flooring, yes, you should be able to tighten them.  If you are talking about the backrest, I've never had problems with mine so I don't know how to do this.

The floor bolts on the inside (next to console) can be tightened using a single ratchet.  The outside bolts will need a ratchets (or wrenches) under and inside the car to tighten.  Be aware that bolts and nuts can be seriously corroded. Look for any signs of rust.  This could be the reason why your seats are getting loose.

Let me know if this helps,

Regards,

JohnMc
