Land Rover Repair: abs tc dash lights, wheel speed, sensor problems

Question
Dear John
Eveything on my RRC 4.2 95 LWB is tight even at 150K. But
sometimes when I hit a bump the ABS and Tc lights dash lights
come on. When this happens, which is about once a week lately,
I find that when the car has been shut off and restarted, the
lights stay off. I wonder about the wheel speed sensor(s) but at
the same time my AllData search shows only a general picture
and I am somewhat hesitant to pull one out. There is probably
some kind of bushing that touches the axle(s) with a seal, it even
seems to help if I move the multiplug around, the one that
connects to the RF brake pad sensor.
Thanx, Grady

Answer
Hi Grady,

could be just a question of new seals.  Here is a website that might be able to help you out:

http://www.rangerovers.net/repairdetails/abs.html

has an interesting article on wheel speed sensor problems that may be exactly what you are looking for.  A picture speaks a thousand words...

Best of luck,
