Land Rover Repair: low revs vibration 1995 disco, torque loads, air sensor

Question
hi john.
i have the chance of buying a 1995 td disco es.the only problem i can find with it is that when driveing in any gear at low revs the car vibrats quite badly.but if you pull away at speed and keep the revs up a little the problem is not as near as bad.
greatful of any info you can shed on this problem.
thanks leon.

Answer
Hi Leon,

could be the MAF sensor or the idle air sensor.  If you are considering this Disco, take it to the nearest LR dealership for a complete inspection.  For a small amount ($100) they'll be able to tell you what major components are in need of changing and give you a better opinion as to what it is worth.

At this point, I'm not sure if its sensor related, fuel related or just poor maintenance.

Best of luck,

JohnMc

NB: TDi has great torque...loads of pulling strength!
