Land Rover Repair: Door Lock, spider unit, salvage yard

1997 range rover
due to a frozen lock the lock busted while opening the door spoke to delar take about 3-4 wks to get a new lock and a key cut...
Talked to another mechanic that suggested getting a lock from a junk yard and having 2 diffrent keys one for the door and one for the ignition... Said that it should not cause a problem of immobilization of the engine...
any suggestions do u think that it will work

the salvage yard solution will save you money and if you are willing to live with a two key system - go ahead!

I agree, it should not affect your spider unit.
