Land Rover Repair: Disco rear view mirror, auto glass shop, rear view mirror

My discovery has the problem with the fogging problem.  How do I replace it? I want to get it off the windshield, Do I pull it off or is there a screww to get it off?  Thanks for your time

Hi Scott,

if you are talking about replacing your rear view mirror due unit failure, I believe it can be removed (very carefully here) by wiggling it off backwards.  This will remove the mirror but not the adhesive backing and metal backing plate.  

If this does not work, I've been told that applied heat (hair dryer?) may help remove the entire mirror and adhesive.  If you are in doubt, go to a local auto glass shop and for a few $$$ they could do this for you.

If you are replacing the mirror with another LR mirror, this should be a quick replacement. There are hidden wires on some models that have multi-connectors and these must match up exactly to the new mirror.
