Land Rover Repair: Rear compartment water leak, canadian tire store, water ingress

Question
Hi John

Thanks for the info on changing the temp. comtrol lights.  i haven't completed it yet because I'm having a hard time finding the haynes 3016 manual on Vancouver Island, B.C. Canada.  My new question is that it seems when it is raining out I get a water leak coming out of the back speakers of my 1996 Discovery se7.  When I called the Landrover dealer in Vancouver, he said it had to be that the sunroof drains were plugged.  Could you please advise me how to get to the drains and where they drain out of the viehicle so I can try to air back flush them to clear?

Thanks

Barry

Answer
Hi Barry,

go to the Haynes website and order the manual directly from them.  You could also ask your local Canadian Tire store to order it for you.  Talk to the manager as most of the clerks will tell you "we don't carry Land Rover parts".

I have heard of someone using compressed air to blow out around their electrical sunroofs.  I have a manual sunroof and there are no channels that I am aware of.  I do know that there are existing problems with both the windshield and the alpine windows.  They are prone to water ingress and there are LR technical bulletins at your local LR dealer.  If you ask nicely, they may give you a photocopy of them.

Better yet, here is website that might help you with your water leaking problem:

goto the technical information page for water leaks on our disco.

Best of luck,
