Land Rover Repair: 2000 discovery ll ecu, key fobs, ecu computer

I BURNT THE ECU COMPUTER AND REPLACED IT WITH A USED UNIT. I NEED TO RESET IT BUT THERE ISN'T A DEALER WITHIN 150 MILES. IS THERE A WAY TO RESET IT WITH OUT COSTING ME A ARM AND LEG. I CALLED LOCAL SHOPS BUT THEY SAY THEY CAN'T OR DON'T KNOW HOW.

Hi Jerry,

I have never reset the ECU myself.  I've always had the LR dealer do this.  I'll look around and get back to you about this.  I'm a bit curious.

I've reset the security system for my single button key fobs but I've never done the main ECU.  My worry would be that I miss a key input sequence and trash something very expensive.
