Land Rover Repair: freelander rear side windows, rear side windows, diy mechanic

Question
I own a T reg freelander. Both rear nearside and offside passenger windows will not close properly.
When the catch is closed, it springs open. not only is this an annoyance but a serious security problem. a DIY mechanic friend of mine stats that there is no room for adjustment in the catches. Any answers please.

Hi Nigel,

not owning a freelander, I am unaware of this problem.  I've checked with other sites and oddly no one has mentioned this problem.  The only window related problems I am aware of is the famous "dropping" window and with earlier Freelanders, a problem with windows 'blowing open' on highways.  Perhaps this is your problem in disguise!  Replacement is probably the only resolution.  Figures.
