Noise appears with not in gear, idling, appeared after 400 mile trip without interruption or noise and parked in my garage overnight..

I listened and looked, since vehicle was not moving have guessed maybe an internal engine breakdown?

Before leaving, that am, had oil & filter changed at Jiffy Lube. Checked oil level at dipstick, found over full by 1-2 quarts.. some have suggesed overfill may? have caused overload on Rod?

Thoughts, please and thanks for having your site available.

PS: Needed to return that 400 miles, but finding other solution.. don't think should be driven..

Hi Sheila,

Sorry for your problems. I need some more info. If you put it in gear and attempt to accelerated it the banging still there? Does it get louder? Have you drained the excess oil yet? If not go ahead and drain it.

Waiting to hear.

Thanx, Dave Haberman
