Lexus Repair: Lexus power steering., power steering pump, vacuum switch

Question
I have a power steering leak in my 92 LS400, fluid must be refilled every 3 days, a new blueish smoke is coming through the exhaust at start up and I think it is likely vacuum related, can I purchase a few of the parts that are likely leaking (hoses, vacuum switch) at a reasonable price and fix it myself or will the pump need to be replaced?

Answer
Hello Ian,
I would take a look at your power steering pump, hoses, vacumm switching valve.  Any leaks on the ground at all? I wouldn't  peform this job by yourself.  There is a certain way of flushing the power steering system.  You could damage the pump if there is an air pocket in the system.
