my wife's 2002 rx300 has no radio signal and the tape player doesn't work. the power antenna still goes up when you turn the radio on and the cd changer still plays loud and clear. can this be fixed, or do i need to replace the unit?

thanks!

Never run across that one. You'd probably wind up replacing the radio head unit. See if you can find a used one off ebay, or a salvaged place, or install a nicer aftermarket one.

It's not hard. Well... Sometimes removing the vents is a pain, but physically & mentally, it's not challanging! :)

Answer
Na the HVAC is actually seperate. Now the radio... You have to hard-wire them. Bypass the factory amp & bridge the connections (twist wire ends together & drip soldier on them to make them stiff & shove them into both harnesses to bridge them), or cut them up & soldier them together.

It's not as bad as it sounds tho, promise! Just takes some patience. Wiring diagram helps. (Highlander, or RX300) Just try to get a nice face-plate too!
