Lexus Repair: 97 ES300 not starting, toyota service, jp importz

Question
Car has about 190k miles. When I tried to start, battery was completely dead. Recharged the battery. However, this time the engine sounded like it was about to start- yet it wouldn't get past the "ta-ta-ta-ta".  It wasn't the "kee-kee-kee-kee" noise...that is an awful noise. It actually sounded like the normal start up..except it wouldn't turn over...thanks for any help.

Answer
Hello Hunter,
Did you check your battery voltage? How long did you charge the battery? You will need 12.6v to get the vehicle started. Inspect your battery terminals, making sure they aren't corroded. Inspect your charging system.  If everything is good.  Replace your starter.  Thank you.
