Lexus Repair: I am interested in Buying Lexus 1993 ES300, lexus toyota, toyota v6

Hi there,

I am interested in buying above car. I just want to know your expert advice on that. How good is Lexus 1993? One more thing seller of the car was telling me that we can use Toyota Camry's spare parts is that true? If not, then are spare parts available in abundance? In addition to that, what should I check before buying that old car. I mean to say what are the main important things do I need  to look at. One more thing the car has done 153K, do I need to change timing belt. Please let me know asap.

Hello, The cars timing belt needs to be changed every 60k miles. What I would find out is has a factory trained Lexus/Toyota shop been servicing it and does he have records? The Toyota V6 Camry has almost all the same parts so yes good supply. I would not buy this car until you have it checked out by a quality Lexus/Toyota shop first. And keep in mind any car with 150k plus miles on it could have problems down the road.
