Lincoln/Mercury Repair: check engine light on, lincoln town car, transmissions

i have a lincoln town car 97 and tonight i've got check engine light on !! low oil could be the reason ?

The check engine light is triggered by dozens of things. From engine to transmission and more. I suggest you take it somewhere to have them scan your computer and see what code or codes we have in there. Cottman transmissions will do this for free if there is one near you.
