Lincoln/Mercury Repair: Transmission for 93 merc villager, transmission flush, shift out

Question
I have a 93 villager, it wont shift out of 1st gear. Do I have an computer controlled transmission, and how do I know it is a bad transmission and not in need of a transmission flush?

you do have a tranny which is controlled by the compuiter . The only thing you can do is bring it to a good tranny shop and tell them to check the compuiter and see if they can reprogam it most likely all it needs . then after that is all set have them do a flush less than a 100 dollors . good luck to u hun and u have a very pretty name pete ps let me know how you make out pete
