Mazda Repair: belt squealing at start up, mazda 626, belt dressing

How do I stop belt squeal on my 98 Mazda 626? I recently replaced old brittle belts. It now squeals on start up for several seconds then fades away. Could there be a loose belt?

if it has an automatic adjuster it may need replacing if not you may have over or under tightened the belt you wany about half inch of deflection for ever 12 inch run

you can also buy a can of belt dressing at any atuo parts store for less then 10 bucks
