Mazda Repair: Power windows, mazda protege, rear doors

Question
Hello Joshua.2001 Mazda Protege 4 dr.The power windows on the front passenger and both rear doors stopped working.Drivers window works. The individual door window switchs dont make it work. What is the common factor that would cause this problem? Thanks Mark

Answer
check the simple things the fuses first if there ok make sure there is power to the swicths if there is power to them you can check the motor itself by removing the door panel and supply direct power to the motor if they don't work with direct power the motor is gone if they do work it'll be in either the wiring or the switch itself if the motor works with direct power check for continuity in the wires from the switch to the motor remember you need to have power at the swicth if not you'll have to trace the wiring backwards til you find power and make repairs as needed. check all fuses as now with newer cars some fuses supply more then one source and some units get power from more then one source.
