Mazda Repair: mazda motor replacment, mazda motor, mazda protege

I have a 95 mazda protege that i killed the motor in. I was
wondering if a 94 mazda motor will work in a 95 mazda protege.
the original motor is a 1.5 and the new one is a 1.8 L. both
are 16 valve.

for the most part no it won't i'm not sure if the mouning for the tranny and mounts are the same for the 1.5 and the 1.8 but the ecm is different as long as the mounting for the tranny and engine mounts are the same you can replace it with the 1.8 however you'll have to change the wiring harness and ecm, there might also be some other changes you'll have to do
