Mazda Repair: CVC Joints, pickle fork, ball joints

Question
How hard is it to replace cvc joints on a 95 Mazda 626. And do you have instructions on doing?

Answer
your better to replace the axle as a unit it's not much more exspensive remove is rather easy with stardard tools just remembet to replace the seal on the transmission you will need a seal installer to do so however you can normally rent them at parts stores through there loan a tool program

-remove tire
-remove tie rod and ball joint from streering knuckle
-remove large axle nut 32to38mm socket not to sure
-pull streering knuckle away from axle and push to the side
-using a small pry bar pop the axle from the tranny
-install is reverse order remembering to install new seal and troque to spec

not if you plan to re-use the ball joints and tierods don't use a pickle fork to seperate from the knuckle you will damage them

the ball joints are pressed in so i recomment if they don't need to be replaced don't damage them get a ball joint seperarator there not that much if you do want to replace them it's easiest to remove the lower control arm and take it to a machine shop unless you have air and a ball joint press you can also look up armcan automotive in mississauge ontario canada they sell chassis parts for that car rather cheap and you can also buy the lower control arm off them as a unit with the bushings and ball joint already installed i believe there also on e-bay and probly carry the axle also they do provide shipping great supplier i have used in the past

if not helpful when i return home i can scan and e-mail you the needed parts from my repair manual just simple ask a follow up on here and i'll know what you need

best of luck
